『シーンリニアワークフローと作業色空間』
MARK Vol.2

株式会社ロゴスコープは、CG・VFX会社の株式会社MARKと協働で、ワークショップ『シーンリニアワークフローと作業色空間』を開催しました。 *ワークショップとは、インストラクター(ロゴスコープ亀村)が、CGアーティストが作業をするデスクトップ画面を見ながら対話を交えて進行する形式。受講者のデスクトップ画面をアーカイブとして記録し、ワークショップ終了後も受講者自身で振り返り(ビデオリフレクション)が可能になっています。 前半は、カラーチャートの物理特性を参考にCG内のシーンを構築する、シーンリニアワークフローに挑戦。参加者はまず、カラーチャートをサンプルしたデータ値から、グーグルスプレッドシートにグラフを作成する。参加者間で共有されたグラフをもとに、素材が正しく線形性をお互い確認しながら、数値で階調を合わせる作業に取り組みました。感覚ではなく数値で階調を確認することで、作業者による差が発生することのない一貫したワークフロー構築につながり、実作業の効率化が期待できそうです。 後半は、各ソフトウェアのワーキングスペース(作業色空間)がVFXにどのような影響を及ぼすかを検証。sRGB、ACESといった様々なカラースペースが存在する中、データ損失はもちろんのこと、現実世界に忠実な色・階調に対して、感覚的にCGに質感をつけてゆく作業では、どの作業色空間が適しているのかを探すワークショップになりました。作業色空間の変化が、感覚的な色の数値操作とコンピュータディスプレイ上の物理的な測色値にどのように影響を及ぼすのか、リアルタイムに確認しながら検証しました。
