Summary of the Project:
The next generation broadcasting standard “BT 2020” is an international standard which is decided on video parameter of Super Hi-Vision. It has been led by a result of the research by NHK Science & Technology Research Laboratories (STRL). STRL has been engaged in research and development of “Super Hi-Vision(SHV)”. SHV is so-called “ultimate two-dimension display” that provides high-quality sense of “being there” and new audio-visual experience. The result of that research became the basis of BT 2020. The issue around the human perception and visual experience is very complex and profound. There remained a lot of unsolved problems.
On the other hand, many concrete numerical value about resolution, luminance, sense of “being there”, reality are come to light. Those values bring so realistic audio-visual experience as to invite visual effects at the certain condition. Understanding and knowledge of those human’s perception system are essential for video creators to create the high-reality video. Logoscope cooperates with specialists of psychophysics and physiology who pursue for the relationship between their speciality and video experience. And we aim for the production of video with high reality.
