Summary of the Project:
Visual display of virtual reality began to represent the most of the essence of the Real world. Namely, those are the sense of “being there” brought from first person view, interactive head tracking, high frame-rate and so on. We can imagine that it is a hard task to represent narrative films which express a story on the screen through the performance of actors, either human or computer graphics, in the virtual reality. The difficulty is due to the most of conventional film techniques for constructing a story such as close-up, cut, panning of camera which are developed from traditional film arts are now left to the viewer through the first person view of virtual reality.
In this project we concern with the crossing of cinema technology and other specialties. Then, we pursue the basic techniques and visual effects which are required for first person view story-telling by using the visual display which bring the high quality reality. Our final purpose is to create the basis of virtual reality narrative film representation.
